Low Cost Finds – Websites and Crazy Fun Stuff

Good Low Cost Stuff!

I am on the computer about 8 hours a day, and every so often I come across some really good stuff that costs so much less than any place else that it is an amazing find.  Here are two that have really caught my eye – the first one is for business, and the second one is for fun or business — a total kick!

Web Design – a complex site for $350

Chris Green has been a contributor to this blog with his incredible articles on The Cloud – thousands of people have visited this site because of them. Chris has been a web designer and online business consultant for 15 years, the last eight as founder of Design Web Studio. Chris contacted me several days ago to tell me about his latest project. He says,

Low Cost Website Design

Example of Chris’ Website Design

“Over the past few months I have been working on a project where I can develop and build websites more affordably than ever and still maintain a high quality standard, so that these sites don’t just look pretty but also do what they are supposed to do — attract new customers. With 15 years’ experience, I understand the importance of the ‘behind-the-scenes’ functionality of a website to attract customers online.

On the surface most websites look good, but under the hood the coding can be poor and consequently will perform badly on all search engines. These special new websites are built around the WordPress CMS, and as such they have the ability for you to publish new pages, post articles, news items, blogs or promotional features as easy as using word processing software like Microsoft Word.

WordPress is so popular it comes with some great SEO features (the core to getting your website well listed in the major search engines). Each of the pages in these sites has been configured so the entire site is ready to go and be listed.

Each website is responsive which means it is mobile, smart phone, notepad and tablet friendly; it even works with the new retina screens you find on the new iPhones.

Websites like these can cost $1500 to build, but with my own web builder system I can make these sites faster and more affordable at just $350, if you don’t believe me, go and get a few quotes for a responsive custom built website.”

For Crazy Fun – FIVERR

Low Cost Stuff

Have your photo made into a character

I have had some really good experiences with a site call Fiverr. Part of the fun is just looking through their site to see what people will do for five bucks, but I have to warn you, you may end up putting yourself on the site doing something crazy.

Do you need a voiceover in a British accent?

How about 12 mustaches on sticks?

Logo Example 1

What drew me to them is that I needed some logo help. I just couldn’t come up with any ideas for “AdHelper”, so I decided to ask 4 people to give me some ideas – a grand total of $20 for a logo? How good could they be? It was tough to choose because there were so many people who did logos, but I finally chose 4 that had examples that appealed to me.

Logo Suggestion #2

On the right are some of the wonderful ideas that I received, and I can go back to the designers for modifications and formatting any time. Please leave a comment about which one you like – I really need your input.

Other things that you can get from Fiverr for $5:

Two business card designs.

How about a song written for you?

A 300-word article for your blog?

How about a press release, or a caricature of you, or a personal avatar?

Appreciating the dedication you put into your website
and detailed information you provide. It’s good to come across a blog every once
in a while that isn’t the same old rehashed material.
Great read! I’ve saved your site and I’m including
your RSS feeds to my Google account.

Spot on with this write-up, I actually believe this web site needs much more attention.
